Within this structure, Experts and Specialists serve as the technical authority for Assets & Technology, Industrial Projects, and Key Programs. They act as a vital bridge between Cluster Industrial Operations and Engineering & Construction (E&C).
l- Role Mission
The primary missions of the Mechanical Integrity Expert are to:
Harmonize Implementation: Ensure the sustainability and standardization of the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) process across all subsidiaries within their scope, maintaining full compliance with local and governmental regulations.
Asset Performance: Guarantee that manufacturing assets perform their functions safely, reliably, and environmentally responsibly throughout their entire lifecycle.
ll- Scope and Collaboration
Location & Evolution: The role is initially based at the Group’s largest Hydrogen production facility. The geographical scope will progressively expand to include other units across the GCC and the wider AMEI region.
Team Integration: The Expert will be part of a specialized Cluster team focused on Asset Management, Maintenance Strategy & Methods, and Mechanical Integrity.
Partnerships: This position requires continuous support for country operations teams and fluid collaboration with various departments, including AMEI Industrial Direction, HSEQ, and relevant Group-level entities (Group ID, E&C, and SIS).
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain mechanical integrity policies/procedures in accordance with local regulations for the geography (country and site level):
Subsidiary policy;
AIMS program procedures;
Inspection methods;
Define and own Mechanical Integrity inspection plans definition and continuous improvement for all sites in his/her perimeter:
Recommend mechanical integrity inspections (nature and frequencies, RBI or Time-based), using on Group experience and FMEAs, International standard and best practices
Recommend mechanical integrity inspections for equipment covered in RBI assessments
Works with CMMS (Maximo) specialists and planners to ensure Inspection plans are logged into Maximo with the adequate frequencies and job plans.
Controls the proper execution of the inspection plan by site engineers and qualified contractors
Update the inspection plans as needed, based on inspection results.
Document and communicates indications, damages and determine or approve repair methods and timelines
Evaluate and report probability of Failure (PoF) and Consequences of Failure (CoF)
Coordinates Remaining Lifetime Assessments and Fitness For Service studies
Recommends decisions to Country and Cluster Managements
Prioritize and develop the annual inspection schedule including RBI (Risk based inspection), quantify the required annual budget, OPEX/CAPEX to conduct inspection plan and repairs (if needed)
Liaise with Group MI Community of Practice to qualify contractors in his domain of expertise
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
10+ years of experience, incl. in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Services in Mechanical Integrity Management, Static asset Management, in industrial companies operating production assets and infrastructures
5+ years of experience and in Mechanical Integrity management
Knowledge in Hydrogen production and Oxygen production Assets & technologies
Solid experience in engineering & solutions development, as part of the EPC, the project execution or as investor/customer
Strong knowledge in industrial safety, quality, reliability, efficiency
Ability to establish good relationships with different cultures in the field of industrial operations
Ability to develop a strategic actionable plan to strengthen the fundamentals of field operations and improve the quality and reliability of the installed assets
Ability to onboard resources from management to field operations (including functional reports), and drive plan execution, showing resilience
Results oriented
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Good project management skills and ability to animate a community
Fluency in English. French & Arabic are a plus.
