At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Who We Are

We are a dynamic team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. At Blue Origin, our work directly shapes the history of space exploration. We are driven by a singular vision: millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and making that vision a reality.

The Role

As part of a small, passionate, and highly accomplished team, you will serve as the technical bridge between mechanical and fluid systems designers and their counterpart test engineers, suppliers, ensuring that Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for New Glenn — Blue Origin's orbital launch vehicle — is developed with a clear, unified understanding of both design intent, and test requirements within cost and schedule to meet test and production readiness.

You will be the technical integrated product lead gathering inputs from designers and test engineers on both sides, consolidating requirements, resolving conflicts, and keeping development efforts with internal and external suppliers, cost and schedule on track. Your ability to speak the language of both the system design and the GSE test readiness across mechanical and fluid domains will be what makes you invaluable to this team.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight and the testing of space vehicles.  Bias for action and passion for our mission and vision are required.  You will be managing several test GSE development projects for the Integrated Vehicle Test team.

What You'll Do:

  • Collect, combine, and reconcile requirements from mechanical and fluid testing and design disciplines, identifying conflicts early and working with all teams to reach resolution
  • Gather and consolidate feedback from both mechanical and fluid test engineers regarding GSE performance, test readiness gaps, operational needs, and lessons learned — translating that input into actionable direction for design teams
  • Work directly with mechanical and fluid systems designers to ensure GSE designs reflect real test environment needs, operational constraints, and safety requirements surfaced by the test teams
  • Track and communicate technical status across mechanical and fluid GSE development efforts, maintaining clear visibility into where designs stand, what feedback is outstanding, and what decisions are needed
  • Engage directly with hardware and documentation — navigate CAD models, review mechanical assemblies, fluid schematics and P&IDs, interpret engineering drawings, and extract the information needed to keep all teams aligned
  • Champion a culture of safety, transparency, and collaborative problem-solving across every interaction

What You Bring

Required:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with mechanical and/or fluid systems in a development or test environment — enough to credibly engage with both designers and test engineers across both disciplines
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical assemblies, fluid schematics, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and test procedures
  • Ability to navigate CAD models, understand mechanical component relationships and fluid system layouts, and use them to inform technical conversations
  • Proficiency with planning and status tracking tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera, JIRA, or equivalent
  • Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills — able to run productive technical conversations and communicate status clearly to all levels
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to keeping information accurate and current
  • Self-starter mentality with a strong bias for action in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Desired:

  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace Ground Support Equipment, particularly mechanical handling systems, fluid handling, propellant loading, or high-pressure pneumatic systems
  • Familiarity with mechanical structural systems including lifting fixtures, handling equipment, mechanical ground interfaces, and structural test articles
  • Familiarity with cryogenic fluid systems such as LOX, LH2, or high-pressure nitrogen in development or operational settings
  • Background in launch vehicle development, production, and/or operations
  • Experience supporting verification, integration, and testing (VI&T) of orbital launch vehicles or human-rated spacecraft across both mechanical and fluid systems
  • Knowledge of pressure system and structural standards such as ASME, CGA, or equivalent aerospace codes
  • Experience applying  critical path scheduling to technical development efforts, including cost
  • PMP certification or equivalent technical leadership credentials
  • Experience building data analytics and reporting tools using SQL, Excel Power Query, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements decomposition, interface definition, and configuration control across mechanical and fluid domains
