The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking Casual Mechanical Fitters to join our outage team at Mt Piper Power Station. In this role, you will support the refurbishment and maintenance of cooling tower infrastructure, working alongside supervisors, tradespeople, and project teams to safely deliver outage works. Duties will include mechanical maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and general labouring tasks as required. Successful candidates will join Downer’s casual workforce, providing access to ongoing outage and maintenance opportunities across future projects.
About You
• Trade certificate: Trade Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
• Site Proficient: Experienced in outages and projects in the power generation or heavy industrial sector
• Team Oriented: Have an ability to work effectively within a team with well-developed communication skills
• Workplace Safety: Committed to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues
• Qualifications: Advances Confined Space Entry, Working at heights (within 3 years) and Construction white card
