Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager 2. This position is located in Roy, Utah.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional management role will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time.
The candidate will have 80% technical responsibilities: supporting SDS programs as an engineer within the same function and will act across multiple organizations to drive execution.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplines from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience.
6 Years of experience of mechanical engineering development for aircraft/aerospace programs; including requirements generation, conceptual/detail design, design reviews, and/or testing
Experience with requirements analysis, trade studies, SERD generation, design solutions, acquisition, test, and validation
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Must be an expert with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
1+ years' experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
Experience working with specialty engineering stakeholders (PM&P, Safety, Human Factors, others)
Experience leading a team of engineers
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
Possess an EVMS Certification
Hands-on experience in fabrication, assembly, and measuring
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents

Primary Level Salary Range: $126,600.00 - $189,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
