We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

In this position, you will be responsible for the mechanical qualification of electronics for military defense systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute comprehensive environmental qualification testing programs including vibration (random & sinusoidal), shock (impact & drop), thermal cycling, humidity, and other related mechanical environment testing according to MIL-STD-810 and other relevant military standards.
- Oversee set up and operation of environmental test equipment (vibration tables, thermal chambers, shock testers, environmental chambers), and utilize data acquisition systems to accurately record test results.
- Thoroughly analyze test data, identify failure modes, perform root cause analysis, and prepare comprehensive test reports with clear recommendations for design modifications.
- Maintain detailed design documentation, test procedures, qualification reports, and material certifications.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, enhance product reliability, and reduce program costs.
- Working with small design and program teams and the ability to effectively communicate within the team is required.
- Candidate shall also be a self-starter and able to work within a broader program team and or supplier(s) and be able to communicate across functional boundaries in order to solve problems and achieve common goals.
- The candidate shall possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies and rules.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with peers and customers to resolve technical problems and implement solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with environmental qualification testing (vibration, shock, thermal, humidity) to military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461).
- Strong understanding of materials science, particularly related to electronic packaging materials (aluminum, composites, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Secret level is required.
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 6+ years' experience in mechanical engineering
Technical Skills
- Strong background in mechanical engineering with expertise in design and analysis
- Solid fundamentals of mechanical design, analysis, and documentation principles
- Experience with state-of-the-art mechanical engineering development software tools (ANSYS Workbench/Mechanical, PTC Creo, MATLAB, etc)
Soft Skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually and in team environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute complex projects
- Motivated self-starter and problem solver with proven experience executing in multi-disciplinary teams
Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- The candidate should understand the detailed mechanical designs for sensitive electronics, their enclosures, chassis, and related modules and components.
- The candidate should understand the CAD documentation as well as understand analysis and results to be able to correlate analysis results to test results.
- The candidate should possess an understanding in the application of heat transfer principles, strength of materials, materials selection, design for vibration environments and the ability to apply those principles to unique mechanical design challenges.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
