Job Description Summary

Responsible for supporting the Engineering team in the design, development, and improvement of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes used in a high-volume production environment. This internship provides hands-on experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, automation, and cross-functional problem-solving. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers and production personnel to develop practical solutions that support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

  • Design tooling components used in powder compaction and hot forge manufacturing processes.
  • Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and prints for tooling, gaging, fixtures, and related production equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions that improve manufacturing processes, quality, and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot tooling and production issues alongside engineering and manufacturing team members.
  • Support automation projects by assisting in the design and implementation of mechanical systems and components.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and update drawings as needed.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology, with an anticipated graduation date of 2028.
  • Experience using CAD software such as Creo Parametric, Autodesk Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T concepts and blueprint reading 
  • Basic understanding in Microsoft Office programs
