The Mechanical Engineer assists in the planning, conceptualization, and creation of mechanical designs for new and existing Percussionaire products.  This position will ensure projects have a successful design and execution through collaborating with all aspects of engineering. This position is based in our Sandpoint, ID facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, both onsite and remote, to support project execution and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Participates in IQ/OQ/PQ activities, including drafting qualification plans for internal use or vendor testing
  • Produces specifications for products and assists in selecting raw materials and components to be used in productions and builds models/prototypes of the product and tests the design
  • Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product
  • Works with vendors to establish purchasing and manufacturing requirements and collection of specifications

Requirements

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • 5-7 years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer required; medical device industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical device standards and regulations or an ability to develop a working knowledge of standards and regulations required
  • Proficient in adhering to Quality Management System (QMS) protocols and experienced in utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience writing qualification protocols and mold validations is a plus
