The Role
Description

Bevi is on a mission to disrupt the beverage supply chain and replace single-use water bottles with smart water machines. Thousands of companies use Bevi to sustainably provide their employees with pure, sparkling, and flavored water at work. As the market leader in IoT-enabled beverage machines, we’ve raised over $160M in venture capital and are growing rapidly. In addition to maintaining hypergrowth with our current product line, Bevi is investing heavily in new product development.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to play a critical role in designing and putting into production our next generation of beverage dispensing machines. Working with stakeholders, you will take projects from initial scoping to proposing solutions that satisfy the product requirements. You will communicate updates to the team while identifying and highlighting key challenges along the way. We are seeking a candidate who embodies Bevi's core values, enjoys learning new skills, collaborates across disciplines, and is committed to driving design challenges to completion.

Your Day to Day
  • Design, analyze, prototype and test hardware systems that deliver compelling beverages without the waste of the traditional supply chain
  • Translate product requirements into complete technical solutions that satisfy challenging business, design and schedule requirements
  • Work closely with industrial designers, electrical, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers to develop a refined product
  • Lead the development of systems or subsystems and integrate into a single delivered product
  • Work with suppliers and subject matter experts to design manufacturable, cost-effective components and assemblies
  • Develop and execute tests to prove performance, reduce quality risk and build product reliability
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in your areas of specialization
  • Participate in the design review process
  • Drive work independently while managing ambiguity, and be proactive in managing and communicating risk
Requirements
  • BSME or MSME with a minimum of 3+ years relevant work experience in system design that requires integration of mechanical and electrical components
  • Skilled SOLIDWORKS user or equivalent (NX, CATIA, etc), with experience working collaboratively in large assemblies, modeling complex parts, and creating toleranced 2D part and assembly drawings (experience with GD&T a plus)
  • Professional experience with various manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, and casting, and knowledge of materials used in these processes
  • Experience launching a product for mass production
  • Systems design approach with strong tradeoff analysis skills and ability to drive to a final solution while evaluating multiple alternatives simultaneously
  • Familiarity with modelling and analysis tools such as FEA, MatLab, MathCAD, etc.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition and measurements tools
  • Strong hands-on skills to build and test prototypes
  • Bias for action and strong history of delivering results
  • Passion for collaboration and rapid development in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-organized and excellent communication skills, to both technical and non-technical audiences
Benefits
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance plans with BlueCross BlueShield, 95% paid by employer
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO plus 12 company holidays, and additional paid days for sick leave, etc
  • Generous fully paid parental leave for both birth parents and non-birth parents
  • Fully employer paid disability and life insurances
  • Wellness and fitness reimbursements
  • Monthly stipends for cell phone use and commuting costs
  • Onsite snacks, weekly catered lunch, and (of course) unlimited Bevi ... plus composting and terracycling, too
  • Happy hours, team-building events, bagel breakfasts, Hero awards - and more.

We're excited about supporting career growth and would love to be part of your professional journey. We know that talent comes in many forms, and we value individual accomplishments, specialized knowledge, and genuine passion over just checking boxes on a requirements list.If any of our positions interest you, please apply!
