Industrial maintenance is a fundamental pillar of modern industry, supporting the optimal functioning of industrial equipment, machinery and infrastructure. It is a key field that aims to plan and execute the activities necessary to maintain, repair and improve the assets and systems used in industrial processes. Over the years, industrial maintenance has evolved significantly, moving from traditional failure-reaction approaches to preventive and predictive strategies, which have transformed it into a key element of operational efficiency and profitability across a wide range of industries.
All about the role:
A maintenance and repair engineer is a specialist responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment and facilities within an organization, or a production unit. This function involves a combination of technical knowledge, diagnostic skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. The job is often a combination of office and field work, and the engineer will work closely with various departments, including production, purchasing and human resources, to identify equipment maintenance and repair needs.
The maintenance and repair engineer's work are essential for preventing production interruptions, reducing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of equipment. He will need to develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs, perform root cause analysis of failures and propose effective solutions. The role of the maintenance and repair engineer is crucial in the context of increasing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs, having a direct impact on the company's financial results.
What you’ll do:
The responsibilities of the maintenance and repair engineer include, but are not limited to:
Equipment Technical Condition Analysis: Performing periodic assessments of the technical condition of equipment and installations. Identifying possible failures and proposing solutions to remedy them.
Maintenance Program Development: Developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, which must be in accordance with operating standards and manufacturers' specifications.
Repair Activities Coordination: Organizing and supervising equipment repair work, ensuring compliance with completion deadlines and quality standards.
Collaboration with Technical Team: Constant interaction with the technical team and other departments to coordinate activities and resolve technical issues arising in production processes.
Identification of Spare Parts Needs: Monitoring spare parts stocks and preparing requests for their purchase.
Process Improvement: Challenging innovation by proposing suggestions for continuous improvement of maintenance processes and the use of modern technology.
Personnel Training: Ensuring training of technical personnel in the correct and efficient use of equipment, as well as in compliance with health and safety measures.
Reports and Documentation: Preparing maintenance reports and technical documentation related to the work performed, ensuring that the information is correct and up-to-date.
Compliance with Health and Safety Norms: Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety norms, taking into account all applicable legal regulations.
Audit and Evaluation: Participation in internal and external audits, providing all the necessary information for the evaluation of the maintenance system.

Who you are:
To occupy the position of Maintenance and Repair Engineer, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
Higher Education: Completion of specialized university studies in the field of mechanical engineering. A complementary training in the field of maintenance management is an advantage.
Field Experience: Relevant experience of at least 2-3 years in the field of industrial maintenance, with solid knowledge in the maintenance of equipment specific to the activity sector (e.g., production equipment).
Technical Knowledge: Outstanding technical capabilities, including knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial automation, mechanical, as well as familiarity with diagnostic tools.
Analysis Skills: Enhanced analytical capacity to evaluate technical problems and identify the most effective solutions.
Organizational Skills: Skills required for effective time and resource management, as well as for coordinating maintenance activities.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with colleagues, superiors and suppliers.
Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and environmental legislation and compliance with ISOs regulations.
Software Usage Knowledge: Advanced use of MS Office and specialized maintenance management software (CMMS).
Flexibility and Mobility: Availability to travel to different locations, if necessary.
