The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

  • Generating mechanical specifications for a new product or a change to an existing product.
  • Designing robust components, housings, and assemblies.
  • Performing tolerance studies, computer simulations, or other technical activities required to ensure product quality.
  • Conducting design reviews to demonstrate product robustness and manufacturability.
  • Writing test plans, executing design tests, and reviewing test results.
  • Preparing and maintaining project notebooks and related documentation.
  • Generating and maintaining accurate bills of material.
  • Estimating labor and material for new projects.
  • Qualifying custom part vendors.
  • Coordinating engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing colleagues.
  • Mentoring and directing the efforts of interns, designers, and technicians.

This job might be for you if:

  • You have a B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in at least two of the following areas: electromechanical packaging design, computer-aided design, materials and processes, mechanics.
  • You are detail-oriented and skilled at solving challenging problems.
  • You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years SolidWorks experience
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: industrial plastics, spring design, sealing design, environmental testing, finite element analysis
  • Experience effectively managing projects

Pay Range Data

 

We anticipate filling this position as a Mechanical Engineer $85,000 - $108,000 per year. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
