Key Definition for the Position
This role is responsible for ensuring that mechanical designs meet all applicable standards and customer requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturability, quality, and cost. Key tasks include technical support, risk assessment, and contributing to technology and process improvements to maintain the company’s competitive edge.
Key responsibilities of position
- Document, analyse, review and verify that the mechanical design meets the requirements specified by applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
- Design to mitigate the impact on time, cost, and quality.
- Review of customer specifications, regulatory and other requirements for preparation of designs.
- Work with other departments and job roles to ensure manufacturability of PCHEs designed.
- Approve suitability of manufacture of product design according to existing Company or new processes.
- Participate in and hold design reviews.
- Provide technical support to other departments and clients.
- Use and develop calculations & drawing tools/Software.
- Participate in project and improvement work.
- Deliver input to improve current technical solutions and / or develop new solutions to ensure our competitive advantage.
- Review potential risks in advance for project progress and report them to the manager.
- Review and share newly changing codes and improvements with team members.
- Lead and contribute to technology development projects and establishment of requirements.
- Stay up to date concerning new technologies and share this new knowledge with team members.
- Deliver and/or coordinate training for team members in the technology development system, processes, and
tools, including the development of all communication and training materials. - Comply with workplace safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
- Comply with intellectual property (IP) policies and procedures to ensure these assets and property are protected
Requirements / Qualification
- Mechanical engineering degree or higher qualification
- Prior experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger design preferable
- Ability to plan, communicate, collaborate and report effectively with teams and people at various levels, from shop floor to senior management, and cross-culturally (EU and Republic of Korea).
- Excellent organizational skills
