The Role:

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help design the next generation of electric and automated forklift systems. In this role, you'll develop and integrate mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems for innovative material handling equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through production. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead component or system development activities, managing project timelines while supporting design reviews and continuous product improvement.
  • Design, develop, and release mechanical components and integrated systems for new electric forklift platforms and product enhancements.
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and assemblies using Creo while managing product data within PDM systems.
  • Engineer welded structures, castings, plastic and rubber components, electrical hardware, and complex multi-part assemblies.
  • Perform engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), to validate structural integrity, durability, and performance.
  • Define system requirements and develop solutions that meet performance, cost, quality, manufacturability, and reliability objectives.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, supply chain, and testing teams throughout product development.
  • Develop engineering documentation including DFMEAs, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and design validation plans.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design and new product development.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Experience designing and integrating mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control systems, assemblies, and components for production.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and global engineering teams.

 

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience designing material handling equipment, automotive, agricultural, construction, or other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with automated equipment, robotics, or autonomous vehicle technologies.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, GD&T, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA).

 

Where and When You’ll Work:

  • This is an in-person role located at our Greene, NY office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.

 

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like: 

Salary - $94,020 - $120,537 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Relocation: This role may be eligible for relocation assistance.
