CTDI is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our corporate Engineering team and will work as part of a dynamic team of Electrical, Software, and Robotics Engineers, in a fast-paced environment with an ever-changing set of businesses and facilities to support. This position will design and analyze products for automated systems that perform tests on mobile devices. This includes evaluation of existing standard parts, equipment and fixtures. Designs and perform experiments for verification analysis.
Responsibilities
- Establishes requirements and works on completing all phases of Mechanical engineering design projects.
- Design mechanical components, subsystems, and work cells using Solidworks
- Develop and test prototypes using internal and external manufacturing resources.
- Assist in generating detailed drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs). Support onsite enhancements.
- Interact with project leads to help identify automation designs in new and/or existing test systems.
- Reviews changes or upgrades to existing designs or test. Analyzes results and recommends solutions.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions on assignments
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME), Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) or a related field of science from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge and competence in designing/supporting Pneumatic and Mechatronics based systems
- 1-3 years of 2D/3D CAD experience. Preferably in Solidworks.
- Knowledge in designing parts manufactured using 3D printing, CNC and Laser cutting.
- Has the ability to create and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Ability to solve problems with mechanical engineering problems.
- Ability to multi-task, with good organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact professionally with the internal teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Minimum 2 years experience as a CNC Lathe & Mill Programmer from blueprint to first article
- Proficiency with SolidWorks
- Proficiency with AutoCAD

- Knowledge of machining manufacturing methods and fixturing
