Major Responsibilites
- Operate, maintain,
troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, and air
handling units.
- Maintain and
troubleshoot plumbing systems and firefighting/fire pump systems.
- Maintain and
coordinate the upkeep of elevators and escalators, including routine
inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and mechanical troubleshooting, liaising
with certified OEM vendors for specialized repairs and statutory inspections.
- Operate, maintain,
and troubleshoot the water recycling and effluent/sewage treatment plant
(STP/ETP), including pumps, filtration units, and dosing systems, ensuring
treated water quality meets required standards.
- Develop, implement,
and manage a preventive maintenance program for all mechanical equipment and
systems.
- Conduct routine
inspections of mechanical rooms, plant rooms, and rooftops to identify and
resolve issues.
2) Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all mechanical
work complies with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety
standards.
- Follow Lock Out Tag
Out (LOTO) and confined-space protocols, particularly around the water
treatment plant and mechanical rooms.
- Maintain records of
maintenance activity, water quality testing, and equipment certifications,
including elevator/escalator statutory inspection certificates.
3) Coordination & Support:
- Coordinate with OEM
vendors and AMC contractors for elevator/escalator servicing and water
treatment plant operation, ensuring compliance with warranty and safety
requirements.
- Support the Head of
Facility / Head Engineer in budgeting and planning for mechanical equipment and
spare parts.
- Provide technical
guidance to junior technicians on mechanical and plumbing systems.
4) Any other assignment has been given by the
line manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant
certifications (e.g., HVAC, Elevator/Escalator Safety, Water Treatment Plant
Operation) are preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5
years of experience in mechanical/plumbing maintenance in a commercial or
institutional building environment
- Prior exposure to
elevator/escalator systems and water treatment plant operations are preferred.
- Ability to respond
to emergency maintenance calls after hours and work flexible hours as needed.
- English and
computer knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge
of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
- Working knowledge
of the mechanical operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of elevator and
escalator systems.
- Working knowledge
of water recycling and treatment plant operations (STP/ETP), including pumps,
filtration, and dosing systems.
- Strong
troubleshooting ability across all mechanical parts of the building, with a
focus on operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in mechanical/plumbing maintenance in commercial or institutional buildings
- Relevant certifications (HVAC, Elevator/Escalator Safety, Water Treatment Plant Operation)
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting systems
- Working knowledge of elevator and escalator operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of water recycling and treatment plant operations (STP/ETP), pumps, filtration, dosing systems
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls after hours and work flexible hours
- English language proficiency and basic computer knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical building systems
