Job Summary: 

Performs standard entry level mechanical engineering tasks and activities under the direction of engineering personnel.

This is a spring internship position, with expected dates of performance approximately 01/26/26 – 05/15/2026.   

Responsibilities: 

 This position requires performance of Mechanical Engineering skills, inclusive of those identified below: 

• Conduct SolidWorks tasks including entry level mechanical design, drawings, Enterprise PDM data management, and creation of toolbox features 
• Assist in performing integrating and collecting engineering data for basic lab-based testing. 
• Ability to machine and fabricate simple prototype test components. 
• Assist engineering personnel in creating PowerPoint presentations and engineering test data reduction using MS Excel, writing reports using MS Word. 
• Other related job duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Previous experience in SolidWorks, engineering lab activities, and/or similar experience

Education:

 Required: Attending an accredited college/university; working towards a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree.  Undergraduate students must be entering their junior year or later to be eligible for this position.

Skills:

• Ability to take direction and work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Possess good communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.
• SolidWorks, Ansys, and MS Office tools
• Working knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles and formulas
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems
• Hands-on experience with mechanical components/devices

Other:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
