This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. This role will be based at Archer’s headquarters in San Jose, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.
Seeking a highly motivated intern for the High Voltage Battery Pack Mechanical Design team for Summer of 2026. On this team you will help with mechanical design, build, and test of the battery packs going into the Midnight aircraft.
What You’ll Do:
- Take on a single project that requires analysis, design, and build to meet requirements.
- Work with senior engineers to complete root cause and design improvement tasks on existing battery packs.
- Use hands-on skills to aid with testing and test-fixture modifications.
What You Need:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent major (Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
- Must have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework (rising Junior or Senior)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience through previous internships, academic projects, or personal hobbies (robotics, maker projects, automotive work, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Can-do attitude, ready to learn and hit the ground running
Bonus Qualifications:
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar)
- Experience with prototyping in machine shops
- Involvement in clubs such as Formula SAE, Solar Car, Baja, etc.
Summer 2026 Internship Program Details:
- This internship is a part of a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity. Program dates are:
- May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026
- June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026
- *We will not be able to accommodate interns outside of these two program dates.
- This role will be based at Archer in San Jose, CA
- Relocation and housing will not be provided.
