Mechanical Engineer III

Markon looking for an experienced senior mechanical engineer with extensive expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client.

• Design and develop mechanical heat load calculations and mechanical designs for renovation and new construction projects.
• Review contractor proposals and designs and perform engineering analyses and evaluations.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Support testing and commissioning activities related to mechanical systems.
•  Attend pre‑construction site walks, provide feedback on required mechanical scope for inclusion in the final project scope of work, and develop heat load calculations and designs for in‑house projects.
• Review designs and calculations submitted by others, perform engineering analyses and evaluations, and provide feedback.
• Conduct follow‑up surveillance during construction as needed to ensure work is performed according to approved drawings and design requirements.

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineer with 15+ years of mechanical engineering experienceor 20+ years of experience in the design/construction or operations of chillers, cooling towers, controls, pumps, fans, air handling equipment, and heat exchangers WITH experience in working with construction management and projects greater than 250,000 square feet AND a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 fingerprint background check).
