Mechanical Engineer - Heat TransferKBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer – Heat Transfer to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.
The Mechanical Engineer – Heat Transfer will focus on the design and analysis of thermal systems. This role will be responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of the mechanical systems and structures. The Mechanical Engineer – Heat Transfer will ensure that the systems will meet the needs of the project.
Responsibilities:
Design and analyze heat exchangers, HVAC systems, and thermal management solutions
Develop cost estimates, evaluate equipment, review bids, perform economic analysis, and make recommendations on selection of equipment
Ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards
Conduct simulations and modeling of thermal systems using software tools
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Perform testing and validation of thermal systems to ensure compliance with industry standards
Support the project with equipment testing, “troubleshooting”, routine equipment surveillance, startup activities, training, and in the development of permanent solutions to equipment and system problems
Responsible for safety, accuracy and thoroughness of work performed
Prepare technical documentation and reports on findings and recommendations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with average experience of 10 + years in the Oil & Gas industry
3 + years of LNG plant or on/offshore project experience in the heat transfer discipline
Proven ability in FEED & EPC heat transfer equipment design activities related to LNG Plants
Proficient knowledge & hands-on experience of heat transfer equipment design including all phases of projects from FEED to detail engineering through construction & pre-commissioning
Well rounded in the procedures for heat transfer equipment engineering
Familiar with heat transfer equipment designs of LNG production facilities
Experience providing assistance in purchasing & installing above equipment
Ability to perform heat transfer equipment analysis & calculations, review & implantation of local government regulations, industry codes, & standards
Working knowledge of design & simulation software
