We are currently hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Blasting & Painting) for a leading Oil & Gas project.

Position: Mechanical Engineer (Blasting & Painting)
Job Location: KSA (Saudi Arabia)

Reports To: Supervisor, Blasting & Painting
Experience: Minimum 10 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Face to Face Interview In Singapore - April 1st Week

Job Purpose

Apply mechanical engineering expertise to support and optimize painting and blasting operations at onshore facilities.
Ensure processes align with industry standards, improving equipment longevity, corrosion protection, and operational safety.

3. Main Responsibilities

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions.

  • Ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Support daily activities in the Mechanical Operations Workshop Section.

  • Ensure continuity and efficiency of work.

Technical Support

  • Provide engineering input for painting and blasting activities.

  • Assess equipment and structures to determine suitable painting/blasting methods.

  • Consider:

    • Material type

    • Operating conditions

    • Wear and corrosion factors.

Process Optimization

  • Collaborate with T&I teams to improve painting and blasting procedures.

  • Introduce innovative technologies and methodologies to:

    • Improve performance

    • Reduce downtime.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Work with inspection teams to evaluate effectiveness of blasting and coating systems.

  • Ensure protection against:

    • Corrosion

    • Environmental exposure

    • Wear and degradation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of:

    • Painting and blasting activities

    • Materials used

    • Equipment utilized

    • Quality inspection results.

  • Prepare progress and quality reports.

  • Highlight deviations and recommend corrective actions.

Contractor Evaluation

  • Review and assess contractor performance in blasting and painting.

  • Provide feedback and improvement recommendations.

  • Support procurement and contracts departments in contractor selection.

Safety, Health & Environment

  • Follow all HSE policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties related to the role as required.

  • Coordinate with all departments and divisions as required.

  • External inspectors

  • Auditors

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience

Language

  • English: Intermediate level L4

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience with blasting, coating and painting systems in oil & gas/refinery environments
  • Intermediate English (L4)
  • Willingness to work on-site in KSA (Saudi Arabia)
  • Familiarity with HSE policies and safe work practices
  • Availability for face-to-face interview in Singapore (April, 1st week)
