Salary: $87,000 - $97,000

A Company Background Investigation, CAC, US Citizenship, and a secret security clearance are required for this position. Travel is 5%. 

The Tomahawk Weapon System provides surface combatants with long-range, precision-guided, land attack cruise missile capability. The Theater Mission Processing System (TMPC) provides for Tomahawk mission planning and distribution. The Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control Center (TTWCS) provides for the initialization, preparation, launch, and post-launch control of the missile. 

Requirements

The successful candidate will: 

  • Provide systems engineering support for customers such as the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marines, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) for applicable Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) and Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC), at the unclassified and classified level, during the development phases. 
  • Support general engineering as it pertains to hardware (HW) design and HW production as required. Attend recurring HW, Production, and Logistical status meetings as required. 
  • Perform procurement functions for all HW and production efforts for current and future designs. 
  • Provide tracking to include, but not limited to, initial Fiscal Year procurement quantities, initial procurement date, and expected and actual delivery dates. 
  • Coordinate with HW, Production, and Logistics leads for planning and execution for current and future fiscal years. 
  • Coordinate procurement details according to customer requirements and specific appropriations. 
  • Input procurement and funding requests in the Procurement Request Tool. 
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control (TTWCS) System and Theater Mission Processing (TMPC) System Technical Notes (STN). 
  • Review documents for technical accuracy and submit change recommendations for incorporation. 
  • Provide engineering support for Quality Assurance (QA) inspections of produced TTWCS and TMPC HW suites per documented procedures. This includes creating and interpreting drawings. 
  • Document the QA inspection using the provided checklist. 
  • Develop a Standard Operating Process (SOP) for Tomahawk Production QA process or provide process improvement recommendations to the current QA inspection requirements as required.
  • Document and report issues to both Production and Hardware Leads. 
  • Support general engineering as it pertains to HW design and HW production as required. 
  • Attend recurring HW, Production, and Logistics status meetings as required. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to read/develop drawings in support of the associated task. 
  • Provide additional general mechanical technical support as tasked. 
  • Associated tasks will largely be conducted in a laboratory environment. 
  • Review various technical documents. 
  • Participate in weekly product development "Drumbeat" status meetings for the TTWCS and TMPC products. 
  • Participate in weekly and quarterly status review meetings with the Tomahawk Program Offices (PMA 280, PMA 281, SP23, and SP205). 
  • Task is mainly within a laboratory environment. 

Physical Job Requirements

  • Must be physically able to lift objects approaching 40 pounds. 

Education/Certification Requirements 

  • BS degree in the mechanical engineering discipline with zero (0) to four (4) years of associated experience. An entry-level, degreed engineer will be considered. 
  • Preferred to have education and/or experience in performing Quality Assurance (QA) tasks. 
  • Possess communication skills in briefing at all levels of the organization and be able to work independently. 
  • Possess analytical skills to effectively track, manage, and status multiple technical issues. 
  • Must possess good Microsoft Office Suite computer skills. 
  • Must have above average MS EXCEL skills. 
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills. 

Skills Required

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0 to 4 years of related mechanical engineering experience (entry-level considered)
  • US Citizenship
  • Company Background Investigation and Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Ability to lift objects approaching 40 pounds
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Above-average Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to read, create, and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong communication skills; able to brief all organizational levels and work independently
  • Analytical skills to track, manage, and status multiple technical issues
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with Procurement Request Tool (enter procurement and funding requests)
  • Education and/or experience performing Quality Assurance (QA) tasks
