Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). What You Will Be Doing:
As a Mechanical Designer, you will join our engineering team and design solutions for the future of Energy. Your designs will change the world, span everything from structures to electrical integration by creating models and drawings using NX. You will be integral to guiding the future of design standards at Helion. This is onsite position reporting directly to the Director of Mechanical Engineering at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:
Design high-quality 3D models using CAD software with NX.
Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production
Collaborate with engineers to ensure design and production feasibility
Manage upper-level assemblies for our next-generation fusion machines
Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to improve design and production
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of experience in CAD software and assembly management
Advanced proficiency in CAD software, such as NX, or SolidWorks with an ability to create complex models and drawings
Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software systems, and experience managing high-level bills of material through multiple phases of the development cycle
Familiarity with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) standards, with an ability to apply these standards to complex designs
Experience with product design in the energy, aerospace, or manufacturing industries
Understanding of Mechanical and Structural fundamentals with an ability to use tolerance stack-ups to validate designs
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials, with a focus on optimizing for design for manufacturability (DFM)
