As Mechanical Design Engineer in Vaasa, Finland, you will be at the forefront of the energy transition. Design power transformers, tackle exciting technical challenges, and collaborate with an international team to deliver safe, top-quality, high-performance, and sustainable solutions. No matter your level of experience - from new joiners to seasoned experts, we will equip you with the opportunities and guidance to help you grow and excel.
This is an opportunity to work with engineering challenges related to specialty transformers. In this position you will be part of the order delivery process of the most complex and demanding transformer and reactor designs that the industry has to offer. This role includes hands-on participation in different engineering tasks as well as communication with different stakeholders. Main responsibility in this role is the mechanical design of transformer internal parts and components.
There is more than one way to approach this role. You can be a strong professional with several years of relevant experience or a recently graduated/graduating student with willingness and courage to test your limits in learning new things and taking on the challenges that are part of our daily work. Depending on your background, we will provide training and support to help you grow and develop into this role.
How you’ll make an impact
- Mechanical design of internal parts and components of transformers.
- Create and maintain product structures.
- Close communication with procurement, production and quality.
- Close cooperation with external partners and subcontractors.
- Self-guided, organized and accurate team player, with a positive learning attitude.
- Interact with people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets.
Your background
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Understanding in electrical connections and connection groups is considered as advantage.
- Understanding in mechanical engineering as well as in manufacturing techniques and material technology is considered as advantage.
- Previous experience in assembly work is considered as advantage.
- Preferably skills in 3D CAD program.
- Strong verbal and written skills in Finnish and English. Other language skills are considered as an advantage.
