Job DescriptionAs a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design mechanical components and systems, ensuring their performance, safety, and manufacturability. This role blends design, production, and engineering, requiring creative problem-solving to meet project goals and client expectations within tight deadlines.
You will produce precise technical drawings and specifications, applying a strong foundation in engineering principles to guarantee product functionality and reliability. A solid understanding of metal properties will also be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Product Design Systems: Design, implement, and maintain product design systems to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Innovative & Practical Design: Create cutting-edge product and concept designs with practical use.
- Client Consultation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet design requirements.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve design challenges effectively.
- Material Innovation: Explore and utilise innovative materials and processes.
- 3D CAD Expertise: Perform detailed 3D CAD modeling and detailing.
- Prototyping: Develop prototypes for concept designs.
- Design Consistency: Oversee the design style of product families, ensuring consistency in aesthetics, installation, usability, and function.
- Best Practices: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in industrial design engineering, including vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to enhance operational performance.
- Technical Input: Provide technical insights for component and material selection.
- Material Efficiency: Analyse and optimise material usage.
- Market Research: Conduct market research, analyse competitor products, identify trends, and develop innovative solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Actively engage with team members to achieve company KPIs and strategic objectives.
