Sensata's high-voltage engineering team works directly with automotive manufacturers and suppliers to develop components for cutting-edge electric vehicles. We are seeking an experienced engineer who is able to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision while also working across global teams and mentoring younger engineers. An ideal candidate will have experience working with high voltage products and dealing directly with customers and suppliers. We are passionate about what we do, and are looking for a positive, enthusiastic individual to join our team.

General Responsibilities
• Advises on engineering fundamentals and org to make sound decisions on complex technical issues
• Competitive analysis (benchmarking patent research, cost estimates etc.)
• Strongly influence design for manufacturability
• Detailed understanding of market and implications for business
• Proactively challenge and drives the organization to deliver improved quality and performance related to engineering design
• Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications)
• Direct interaction with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget
• Leads research and welding characterization  processes
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermo and heat transfer
• Advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods – welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding and forming. Basic knowledge of core manufacturing processes
• Oversees mechanical design activities while participating on cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) teams
• Leads design prototype builds and production validation activities in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and supply
• Advises on design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work directly with automotive manufacturers and suppliers to develop components for cutting-edge electric vehicles
  • Mentor more junior engineers
  • Work across global and local teams
  • Own large projects

Additional Requirements

  • Able to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision. Own large projects.

  • Electromechanical knowledge/ experience preferred
  • Experience in the Automotive and Electric Vehicle Industries preferred
  • Experience working with high voltage products preferred
  • Experience working with suppliers and customers preferred
  • Passionate, Positive, Team Player.
  • Able to travel international and domestic about 15% of the time.

Base Salary Range:

$124,200.00 - $170,830.00
