Renishaw’s CMM & Gauging Products Division (CGPD) is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers to join the Machines Current Products Team, reporting to the Current Products Manager.

The Current Products Team plays a vital role in maintaining and improving Renishaw’s established product portfolio. Working closely with various teams across the business, you will have the opportunity to influence product quality, reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational performance while working on a diverse range of technical challenges across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Product Support
Provide engineering support for products in manufacturing, production and service.
Investigate and resolve technical issues, product failures, and customer concerns.
Support process improvements, product transfers, and production efficiency initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
Lead initiatives to improve product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for design optimisation and component standardisation.
Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
Support the ongoing design and development of current products.
Manage engineering improvements through formal engineering change management processes.
Quality & Compliance
Maintain products quality and ensure compliance of products with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Support audits, product validation, and certification activities.
Contribute to FMEAs, risk assessments, and quality improvement programmes.
Success Measures
Reduction in product defects and field failures.
Timely resolution of manufacturing, assembly, and customer issues.
Effective implementation of engineering changes.
Achievement of product cost reduction targets.
Improvements in reliability and quality metrics.
Delivery of assigned projects and actions on time.
Compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting products within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong problem-solving and product troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
CAD and PLM systems experience and knowledge of engineering change control processes.
Desirable Requirements
Professional engineering accreditation.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement qualification.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
Experience with design simulations tools.
