We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team in Athens. You will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of autonomous robotic systems, contributing to products that operate in demanding real-world environments (e.g., solar farms, marine structures).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings
  • Contribute to mechanism design (mobility systems, frames, enclosures, end-effectors)
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation in lab and field conditions
  • Perform engineering calculations (stress, fatigue, tolerances, environmental loads)
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and scalability
  • Collaborate with electronics, software, and AI teams for system integration
  • Participate in field deployments and performance evaluation
  • Prepare documentation (BOMs, technical reports, design reviews)
  • Continuously improve designs based on testing and operational feedback

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 1–4 years of experience (or strong project experience) in mechanical design / robotics
  • Good knowledge in CAD tools (SolidWorks)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with prototyping and hands-on engineering work
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment
  • Good communication skills in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience in robotics, mechatronics, or autonomous systems
  • Exposure to FEA / simulations
  • Familiarity with harsh-environment design (marine, outdoor, thermal constraints)
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing, machining, or assembly
  • Basic understanding of control systems or embedded hardware

Skills Required
