In this role, you will:
- Design and build complex mechanical prototypes and assemblies in CATIA, ensuring high performance and manufacturability.
- Accurately model surfaces, geometries, and assemblies for rapid prototyping and evaluation.
- Create detailed drawings, documentation, and BOMs to support fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Develop tools, jigs, fixtures, and molds to enable efficient prototyping of components and composites.
- Collaborate across design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive innovative AV hardware solutions.
- Research and apply emerging materials and manufacturing techniques to accelerate development and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or prototyping; automotive experience preferred.
- Expertise in 3D CAD design for solids and surfaces; CATIA V5/V6 preferred.
- Proven ability to lead complex prototyping projects across multiple functions.
Bonus Qualifications
- Hands-on prototyping experience with machining, welding, composites, or additive manufacturing.
- Experience managing suppliers to support prototyping efforts.
- Familiarity with documentation and project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence.
