Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer to complete design and draft work, in support of projects for R&D and Power Electronics. This mechanical engineer research, designs, analyzes, and develops mechanical devices, tools, engines, and machines, ensuring they are functional, efficient, and safe. Key responsibilities include utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to create designs, overseeing the manufacturing and installation of components, and troubleshooting system malfunctions. They apply principles of physics, mathematics, and engineering to solve problems and improve products and processes.  

 

 

Duties include and not limited to:  

-Secured and accurate maintenance of product lifecycle data in our Engineering and management tools.  

-Accurate design, drawing, creation or changes, and drafting edits, drafting tasks 

-Data entry into database, including creation of requests and change orders per company approval and tracking process.  

-Quality review of engineering drawings, workflow between team members globally with a keen eye for detail and accuracy for manufacturing and production 

-Also includes tasks such as reports, testing and subsequent write ups, and mass drawing changes. 

-Special projects such as process improvement, macro work to ease use of excel for data loads 

-Investigate problems, analyze how mechanical and thermal devices can provide solutions, and evaluate existing equipment and processes.  

-Create designs for mechanical and thermal devices, systems, and equipment using CAD software, and develop prototypes to test new designs.  

-Oversee the manufacturing process of designed components and equipment, and coordinate the installation  

-Test prototypes and systems to assess functionality and performance, then modify designs as needed based on test results.  

-Diagnose faulty operation in equipment and recommend remedies, as well as maintain mechanical systems and components.  

 

Key Skills & Knowledge 

-Strong knowledge of engineering principles, physics, mathematics, and the ability to use design software like CAD.  

-The ability to analyze problems, think critically, and develop creative and practical solutions.  

-Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with other engineers and stakeholders.  

-Strong project management skills to oversee projects from conception to completion.  

-Meticulousness in design, analysis, and testing to ensure precision and accuracy.  

-Critical thinker: able to sort out complex problems and voice potential solutions 

-Team player: able to work with a varied team and other departments, get along with others; also, must be able to both work independently and take direction as the situation calls for it 

-Expert with SolidWorks and other design drafting tools, with ability to follow best practices and good standards 

-Experienced with Product Lifecycle Management systems, plus if experienced with tools such as Arena, NetSuite, Salesforce 

-Minimum 2 plus years of Engineering experience 

-Experienced with power electronics packaging preferred 

-Experienced with mechanical support for power electronics
