This position provides Engineering support to the Sundyne compressor engineering team in support of OEM contracts. The origin of these contracts comes from major operators in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, or the engineering contractors of these operators, and from all regions of the world. This position has direct responsibility for the design of our integrally geared process gas compressors and provides input into the design of the auxiliary support systems, all in accordance with the latest Industry standards.

You will report directly to our Sr. Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Arvada, CO location on an On-site, work schedule.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working knowledge of rotating equipment; aerodynamic performance, gas seals, bearings, vibration, rotordynamics, controls, testing, material science, and auxiliary support systems
  • Knowledge and interpretation of applicable industry standards (API-617, 614, NEMA, ASME Pressure Vessel Code, AGMA, NACE, etc.)
  • Review of customer technical specifications and datasheets
  • Sizing/selection of “unit” hardware, including; bearings/shafts/gears, dry gas seals, gearbox monitoring instrumentation, and aero hardware (impellers/diffusers/pressure casings)
  • Provide input into the design of the compressor/gearbox support systems; P&ID reviews, seal support systems, lubrication systems, noise attenuation, and compressor control
  • Create bills of material
  • Provide direction to design/drafting resources
  • Conduct pre-release design reviews
  • Create and/or review and approve engineering drawings and documentation; compressor data sheets, cross-sectional drawings, build data sheets, quality/test reports, etc.
  • Disposition non-conforming parts
  • Provide engineering & troubleshooting support for assembly and testing activities
  • Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement, including the creation of Engineering Standard Work
  • Stay abreast of new technology and adapt accordingly
  • Assist Application Engineering and Sales in winning new business
  • Manufacturing support, machine design, understanding of GD&T
  • Provide consultation to Field Service for start-up/commissioning and troubleshooting
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Excellent team player
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, MS a plus
  • 3-5 years of related engineering experience, including manufacturing, EPC’s, and/or oil and gas industry
  • Sound engineering judgment and decision-making skills
  • Travel to domestic or international customer and supplier sites required on a limited basis. Includes kickoff meetings, design review meetings, and HAZOP meetings.

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,400 - 105,700. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
