Mechanical Design & Build Engineer - Novel Bioreactor System

Your mission is to design and construct the most advanced, efficient, and revolutionary bioreactor systems the world has ever seen. We're talking about creating the biotech equivalent of a Falcon 9 rocket – super fast to build, rapidly deployable, cost-effective, energy-efficient bioreactor, and game-changing.

You'll be pushing the boundaries of what's possible in mechanical design, materials science, and manufacturing techniques to slash build times and operational costs.

We need you to think beyond conventional limits, challenge every assumption, and create bioreactor systems that will make our competitors' equipment look like ancient technology. • Own the design and development of our novel bioreactor systems

• Perform analysis on designs—from conceptual, build, test to launch phase—including hand calculations, CAD, physical + mechanical + thermal properties for materials and manufacturability in a rapidly changing environment

• Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and fabricators

• Be responsible for project delivery timeline from early design through build, test and launch.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, aerospace engineering,

• 1+ years of hands on experience driving the design and development of mechanical components or systems (internship and project team experience is applicable)

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Shapr3D, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, welding, and 3D printing

• Knowledge of materials suitable for bioprocessing applications (e.g., stainless steel, specialized polymers, engineered plastics)

• Ability to give a clue of answering challenging engineering questions using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.

• Rapid thinking & actions with ambition to get yourself up to speed at a heroic pace, and accomplish something meaningfully difficult early in your career.

• Experience working at hardware or deeptech startups that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset to accomplish challenging tasks with tight time or budget constraints.
