Job Purpose
You will be responsible for the design of mechanical product, for high volume manufacturing, high quality and harsh environment, of High Voltage Power Electronics products. Your tasks will consist of developing CAD models and drawings based on mechanical engineer requirements, performing drawing verification of your design, and supporting Manufacturing and Test fixture and gages development.
Key responsibilities
- Perform MCAD activity on new or support existing projects.
- Create, evaluate and document mechanical designs using corporate tool sets (UG/CATIA / TcEng ).
- Create and update 3D parts / assemblies / drawings
- Support ME Documentation requirements in line with ME Design processes
- Make sure the drawings follow internal standards and procedures;
- Attend project Team meetings
- Support Mechanical Verification activities, requests, tolerances stack-up and documentation.
- Support Change Management process as required
- Be part of the discussion with suppliers during the development and sourcing activity.
- Communication/presentation of our results the Team
- Exchange 3D data with supplier and customer
- Manage BOM’s
What we’re looking for
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Previous design experience in Power Electronics.
- Mechanical design in a high volume, quality sensitive, manufacturing organisation.
- Products – Automotive, High power control units.
- 3D Modelling experience is required preferably UG NX /CATIA.
- Understanding of the relationships between manufacturing processes materials, and components designs for plastic, sheet metal, and die cast parts.
- Design experience in a cost competitive automotive environment with particular focus on stringent Sealing, thermal and vibration conditions. (P)
- Knowledge and understanding of GD&T ASME Y14.5 principles and their application.
- Customer-focus, leadership spirit, motivation skills, work in a team environment.
- Good Mechanical Engineering background.
- PC Literate: MS Office, CAD programs
- Technical proficiency in a second European Language would be an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
