Job Description

As a Mechanical Architect in our S&RC business unit, you will support remediation, relaunch (MLD), Sustenance and NPI activities and lead mechanical architecture and design for CPAP/BiPAP devices (Dream Station 1 & 2), driving product lifecycle activities including Modify Launched Design (MLD), PDLM, and CAPA. Collaborate across functions and suppliers to deliver robust, compliant, and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design changes and MLD activities for Sleep therapy devices.

  • Define and maintain modular, scalable mechanical architecture.

  • Ensure safety, reliability, and performance compliance.

  • Drive technical roadmap, feasibility studies, and innovation.

  • Guide cross-functional teams and suppliers through development and risk management (FMEA, DFMEA).

  • Ensure alignment with QMS, regulatory standards, and global engineering practices.

You are a part of Connected Care cluster organization, focusing onthe development of mechanical and electrical designs for a common platform serving multiple product lines. Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) is playing a key role in Philips global strategy for Connected Care businesses.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of experience.

  • Expertise in machine design, mechanisms, materials, and value engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, plastics, machining).

  • Proficiency in DFMEA, DFM, CTS/CTQ, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up.

  • Experience with CAD tools (Creo, ProE, SolidWorks), simulation (ANSYS), and PLM (Windchill).

  • Prior working experience in medical device design.

  • Familiarity with medical device standards (IEC, FDA, UL, CE).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
