The Role

The EU Taxonomy Specialist role at Honeywell is an exciting opportunity to work and understand the ESG function at Madurai, India. The EU Taxonomy Specialist should be capable of decision-making, identifying products / processes aligned with sustainable finance within Honeywell, take-up projects and deliver on-time, must possess a positive attitude, proactive mindset, and high attention to detail. This role, which is part of Honeywell’s Sustainability Center of Excellence (CoE), will have visibility to senior management and requires the ability to effectively collaborate both inside and outside the ESG function in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of internal controls and adherence to ESG reporting / regulatory frameworks. You will drive continuous improvement, digitization and other improvement initiatives while continuing to deliver on time and working on your career development.

Your role will also include overseeing, supervising and reviewing tasks performed by team members to ensure effective execution of work; managing end‑to‑end processes and projects for both internal and external clients with responsibility for timely and accurate delivery; issuing clear instructions and directions to team members on tasks to be performed; and mentoring and guiding junior colleagues to support their skill development, professional growth, and overall success.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Honeywell portfolio to ensure alignment with EU Taxonomy regulations 
  • Identify gaps for products / services / activities which do not fulfil EU Taxonomy criteria 
  • Manage and identify products / services / activities as per EU NACE codes and support other Harmonized System (HSN) codes alignment with EU Taxonomy 
  • Identify under which EU Environmental objective products / services / activities are to be categorized 
  • Calculate significant contribution of any activity for dedicated EU environmental objective
  • Co-Ordinate with CoE team for carrying out Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of products / services / activities as per EU regulations 
  • Perform screening against does no significant harm (DNSH) criteria and identify minimum safeguards necessary for activity to fulfil EU Taxonomy criteria
  • Maintain inventory of products / services / activities under purview of EU Taxonomy 
  • Calculate Turnover, CapEx and OpEx ratio for products / services / activities falling under EU Taxonomy 
  • Work with a global team to identify opportunities and/or validate the quantified benefits of products / services / activities falling under purview of EU Taxonomy to deliver energy, carbon and cost saving commitments as per goals
  • Manage programs and controls to ensure regulatory compliance including new and emerging EU regulations and its impact on Honeywell
  • Follow market trends, best practices, reporting frameworks and policy/regulation on EU regulations to ensure processes and practices align with emerging trends
  • Manage the environmental processes and data aligned to commitments, and support reporting for internal and external goals, production of the annual ESG Report, TCFD and SASB disclosures, CDP, EcoVadis, Energy Efficiency Directive, UK SECR and various other ESG regulatory and voluntary reporting frameworks
  • Follow market trends, best practices, reporting frameworks and policy/regulation on ESG to ensure processes and reporting practices align with emerging trends.
Qualifications

 YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3-8 years of experience in sustainability / ESG domain
  • Ability to explain / understand various climate change projection scenarios 
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights
  • Awareness of environmental regulations and sustainability standards

  • Knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting protocols including the GHG Protocol, SASB and TCFD  
  • Working knowledge about Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
