Department Summary
EchoStar is a leading provider of satellite products and services that recently announced disruptive in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines. EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Materials Manager in our Hughes Network Systems division.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position will support our growing AERO business. This position will be located in our Melbourne, FL office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage capability lists (posted and review regularly)
- Review Employment Summary and work within the authorities and limitations depicted on the Repair Station Roster
- Forwarding any technical and maintenance data received through department to the Document Control Manager
- Ensure vendors are appropriately approved as contract maintenance function vendors before maintenance function purchase orders are issued (to include accurate vendor information, and RSQM)
- Ensure articles rejected during receiving, shipping and returned by customers are handled in accordance with the RSQM
- Ensure tools, tooling, equipment, and test apparatus used in maintenance, preventive maintenance and alterations are properly purchased, received, maintained, stored, recalibrated and tracked
- Ensure test equipment or tool used to make an airworthiness determination is appropriately labeled and within its calibration time limits
- Ensure purchase orders for leased or borrowed equipment contain the information required by the RSQM
- Ensure repair station vendors are approved before purchase orders are issued.
- Ensure the preservation and storage of all articles, materials, parts, tools, tooling, equipment and test apparatus and supplies while they are carried in inventory including returned parts
- Ensure shelf life expectancy of units and verifying that the units are labeled and stored correctly
- Ensure proper purchase and storage of replacement identification plates
- Ensure proper segregation and control while the articles are in storage
- Ensure articles are packaged and shipped to specifications defined in customer contracts and/or purchase orders
- Complete any record required by 14 CFR in accordance with its instructions set forth in the Forms Manual
- Timely responses to audit discoveries and implementation of any corrective actions or improvements
- Ensure control, security and legibility of their assigned signature stamp
- Responsible for maintaining training records and that they are up to date
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or combination of education and experience
- 5 years of experience as a Materials Manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in SAP
- Knowledge of Part 125 and or Part 14
Candidate must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Carry equipment up to 300 pounds
- Climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet
- Work with hands and arms above their head for an extended period of time
- Be able to work repetitive tasks like installing/deinstalling cables/equipment
- Have the dexterity to terminate various types of cabling (i.e. CAT6/6A, coaxial cable, fiber cable) with precision
- Work in a 24x7x365 work environment
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $79,000.00/Year - $99,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
