Job Responsibilities:
- Material Tracking and Expediting:
- Daily or weekly runs the area production schedule to review current and upcoming jobs planned start and finish date.
- For each job, looks at the status of material procurement, material delivery, and material receipt.
- Check that material quantities are accounted for and properly labeled (whether purchased, pulled from stock, or delivered from support areas such as machine shop, laser, etc).
- Issue pick lists using online systems to have material pulled to the respective area.
- Stage and Kit material so parts can be easily identified for the production area to use.
- It is the ultimate responsibility of the Material Coordinator to ensure the material arrives in the correct material and quantities and delivered to the job cell prior to the planned start date.
- In the event ANYTHING happens that could impact the material receipt date and impact the planned start date, it must be highlighted and escalated to the Scheduler / Planner and Shop lead for that area.
Qualifications:
- 3 years' experience in Material Coordinator/Production Control role
- Working knowledge of computer programs and software
- Must be comfortable in manufacturing setting
- Must possess strong leadership, analytical thinking, effective/professional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons inside and outside of the company
- Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements
- Must be able to work well under stress
- Must be a team player and be willing to help out when needed
- Forklift experience would put you ahead, but not required
