ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Material Planner at GILLIG, you will be making a daily impact at a stable company that builds critical US infrastructure.  We are looking for a driven and a highly detail-oriented Material Planner to orchestrate backflush activities, review Design releases, and lead warranty procurement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Execute planning activities in the Enterprise Resource Planning system, Syteline
  • Review Engineering REI Releases
  • Lead Extended Warranty procurement for initial bus purchases
  • Be responsible for Distadvantaged Business Enterpise (DBE) program development and submission, as well as reporting
  • Track and report on Rework Labor by Supplier and recovery efforts
  • Review current operations to improve methods, avoid delays, and reduce waste
  • Participate in root cause analysis seeking problem resolution
  • Optimize GILLIG’s internal supply chain by working closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Customer Care, Sales, and Warehouse to expertly manage competing priorities
  • Perform other duties, as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, 4 year degree preferred
  • 2 years of hands-on experience working with Bill of Materials and manufacturing processes
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel 
  • ERP systems experience a plus
  • Ability to create, analyze and make decisions based off large amounts of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assignments are complex and broad in scope requiring outstanding creativity, superior initiative, judgment, and leadership skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Most work will be done from your workstation in Supply Chain
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
  • Work environment includes office settings, manufacturing floor, and warehouse
  • Start time: 6:00 AM

EXPECTED COMPENSATION

$67,000 - $275,000 / annual salary + premium benefits  

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
