General Description:
We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to support our business materials and inventory needs as a material expeditor and internal organization buyer. This individual will be responsible for the organization ordering process and coordinating directly with inventory management and material kitting. The internal buyer responsibilities include driving and tracking the purchasing process from vendor quotes, to submitting the required paperwork, expediting approvals to place orders, and following all orders including vendor communication to provide regular status updates and reports to program management. This position requires attention to detail and willingness to be proactive in planning and ordering materials. Primary near term objectives consist of organizing and stabilizing procurement backlog and process such that it can be transitioned within organization per business needs. General activities include: ordering parts and supplies, tracking purchase orders, coordination within HRL procurement systems and functions, coordination with Inventory and Material control, generating reports for program management, and delivery of parts to laboratories across campus.
Essential Duties:
Review and process purchase requests, driving process through purchase order placement
Follow material procurements from order placement through material receipt, providing regular reporting, status and leading supplier issue resolutions
Coordinate supplier communications, status, expedite and lead issue resolution for all external procurements
Support generating additional quotes and supporting documentation needed for purchase orders
Utilize, maintain and identify improvement opportunities for tracking systems for required documentation and materials in the Procurement cycle
Organize inventory and supplies
Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels
Support program planning of materials and components
Provide timely reporting on status of items in the procurement system
Follow detailed Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Required Skills:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace)
Experience with purchasing, inventory, and parts tracking preferred.
Ability to understand and comprehend engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, requirements, and process instructions is desired
Math and analytical skills is desired
Organizational and time-management skills including prioritization in alignment with business needs is desired
Attention to details is desired
Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel) is desired
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written is desired
Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct, and performs work cognizant of safe work practices is desired
Required Education:
High School Diploma required.
Associate’s degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Coordinate and move material as necessary in conjunction with material control in various inventory locations in both Camarillo and Malibu facilities
Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required.
An active Secret, TS/SCI with polygraph or ability to obtain is preferred.
Compensation:
The range for this full-time position is $31.54 - $38.48 per hour + bonus + benefits.
