Our intention is to provide an opportunity for students to use and build upon existing skills, expand their experience, and do meaningful work while learning from our diverse professional staff that is culturally and gender responsive. We are seeking interns to join our team of caring and compassionate professionals who strive to make a difference in the lives of the clients we serve. Additional Intern Trainings facilitated by our Leadership team at Wellmore on the following topics: Suicide Risk Assessment, CBT, Diagnosis and ASAM Criteria.

Wellmore, Inc. is one of the largest behavioral health and substance use providers in western Connecticut, serving 43 towns in northwestern Connecticut. As a private, non-profit company, Wellmore operates with 260+ employees, 10 sites, and serves approximately 10,000+ clients annually. Wellmore offers client-centered interventions that are developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, solution-focused, and trauma-informed.

QualificationsQualifications:
- Internships are limited so we will only consider SECOND YEAR master level applications from students majoring in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any employment visa, including CPT/OPT.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Requirements:

- In addition to completing the application and providing an updated resume, please upload one letter of recommendation from your current professor as well as unofficial transcripts; letter must come from your Professor or Internship advisor. Letter must be sent to [email protected].
- Currently enrolled in master's level counseling/social work program, has completed one clinical internship or is enrolled in an advanced standing accredited academic program.
- Placement offers are contingent upon a clear background check, including DCF, drug screen and the completion of ALL required onboarding prior to starting at Wellmore.
- Students will need to provide proof of a complete physical examination within the past twelve months, and completed PPD (Tuberculosis test) with negative results.
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
Internship Specific:
- Minimum commitment of nine (9) months for masters level internships; Candidates must be able to commit to the entire term.
- Internships are available in our Mobile Crisis, Adult Outpatient, Child Outpatient, Adult Residential, and IICAPS program - You must indicate on your application what program you are applying for.
- All internships are located in the greater Waterbury area.
- You must have reliable transportation and be able to adhere to your scheduled on-site hours. No telehealth or virtual internship opportunities are available.
- ALL internships are Non-Paid.
Skills Required
- Second-year master's level student in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employer does not sponsor visas (including CPT/OPT)
- Must be 18 years of age or older

- One letter of recommendation from current professor or internship advisor and unofficial transcripts (letter emailed to [email protected])
- Currently enrolled in master's level counseling/social work program and completed one clinical internship or enrolled in advanced standing accredited program

Operating multiple sites and programs, it offers outpatient and intensive outpatient care, mobile crisis intervention, recovery housing, school- and home-based services, medication-assisted treatment and telehealth.
