About this opportunity:
Ericsson Power is at the forefront of power product development for current and future mobile networks. We are a part of Ericsson's global design organization, creating products for critical internal stakeholders including Radio, Enclosure & Power, Microwave, Baseband, and Core/Cloud.
This Master's thesis aims to continue our work on bringing Machine Learning and AI to microcontrollers in power designs. Building on previous research that identified lightweight ML algorithms for resource-constrained environments, your project will focus on the practical firmware implementation and testing of these concepts on actual physical hardware. The goal is to integrate advanced intelligence into the microcontroller residing in the power input stage of Ericsson mobile network equipment.
This project is located in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, and will run during Spring 2027.
What you will do:
You will delve into the practical application of Machine Learning and AI on microcontrollers within Ericsson's power designs. Your main tasks will include:
- FW Implementation: Develop and implement Machine Learning and AI algorithms in firmware.
- Hardware Testing: Test and validate your concepts on actual physical hardware.
- Concept Evaluation: Further probe into ML and AI, focusing on real-world application on an MCU.
This thesis is designed for two students working collaboratively.
The skills you bring:
- Master's student in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
- A strong interest in power products and MCU-based programming.
- Proficient in English, both oral and written.
