OPPORTUNITY

  • The Master Scheduler reports to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and is expected to be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who supports the overall success of our Milwaukee, WI facility. The Master Scheduler will play a crucial role in optimizing production schedules while working closely with operations to ensure a seamless production plan. The Master Scheduler is responsible for efficient resource utilization including containers, labels, raw materials, equipment, staffing, and all appropriate documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to develop and maintain production schedules that meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing costs.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Ensure planned order requirements are correct and convert into manufacturing orders utilizing M3 (Infor) ERP system.
  • Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Coordinate with production teams, procurement, and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and resources required for production activities.
  • Communicate schedule changes, production priorities, and other relevant information to stakeholders across the organization in a clear and timely manner.
  • Input, track, and analyze production data to ensure accuracy and facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Optimize batch size for produced products.
  • Proactively identify potential production constraints, bottlenecks, and other risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Focus on continuous improvements to the existing production scheduling system and M3 system settings to optimize the scheduling process.
  • Responsible for both short-term and long-term strategic capacity review and analysis, identifying gaps and area of opportunities to maximize output and profitability while meeting internal metrics and external demand.
  • Support cross-functional teams and participate in projects aimed at enhancing operational excellence, process optimization, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with site operations team to meet site goals and objectives.
  • Review raw material ordering practices with Supply Chain Specialists and other key stake holders.
  • Responsible for leading and driving the Hydrite safety Vision, Mission and Values as outlined in SF063AF.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to production scheduling, inventory management, and workplace safety.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Regional Supply Chain Manager

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent.
  •  Proven 3-7 years' experience in production scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical industry setting.
  • APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for driving operational excellence and delivering results.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
  • Previous work in an ERP system required, Infor M3 experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and can initiate continuous improvement projects.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Process knowledge and capability a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement techniques is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around manufacturing facilities for extended periods (up to four hours).
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and office equipment for extended periods, including typing, data entry, and reviewing documents.
  • Capacity to work in environments with exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, and other potential hazards, while adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, and platforms as required to access production areas and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or overtime to support production schedules and meet business needs.
  • Capability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats, including participating in meetings, providing instructions, and documenting production activities.
  • Adaptability to work in varying temperature conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments, as needed for production-related tasks.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.
  • Be an active member of the emergency response team and associated training.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
  • Work with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provide back-up support as necessary.
  • Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.
