The Master Scheduler will lead and support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process, including supply review, materials planning, scheduling, and inventory analysis. This role will drive standardization and effectiveness across planning and inventory management processes to improve customer service and reduce lead time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Plant Master Schedule which informs the rest of the organization at the required level of detail as to the manpower and material required to meet customer demand.
- Cooperate with the Marketing group in validation of the forecast and alignment to the proposed schedule.
- Assist in the evaluation of scheduling priorities within the total site requirements needed to support fluctuating demand in sales.
- Participate in continuous improvement of Planning and Control Systems.
- Create and maintain a valid Capacity Requirements Plan, supporting the Master Schedule. Review capacity performance and recommend necessary changes as needed.
- Work with Buyers / Planners and Management to provide solutions to problems in meeting the Material Plan in order to ensure that the Master Schedule is achieved.
- Prepare run out analysis for discontinued items and coordinated exit strategy with Planners and Purchasing.
- Lead Master Schedule Review meeting, monthly.
- Create analysis of demand data to identify trends for Master Schedule inputs and variance reporting.
- Develop Master Scheduling business process; establish planning cycle and time horizons.
- Develop scheduling methodology that delivers a stable schedule, while still delivering agility when/where needed.
- Compile and report monthly schedule and performance metrics.
- Effectively communicate scheduling exceptions to Sales and Operations.
- Resolve demand supply and capacity issues.
- Comply with all safety and environmental regulations, and work to create and promote a safe working environment.
- Manage the level of remanufactured material to ensure continued supply to the production lines and an inventory turn that preserves cash and limits exposure to obsolescence.
- Analyze and report the monthly materials usage through the work order system. Using this analysis of the usage variances, work with engineering to adjust usage percentages to accurately represent the true cost of the product and allow MRP to produce purchase requirements that maximize supply efficiency and eliminate obsolete material.
- Work with operational management to remove capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the manufacturing process.
- Manage short lead time orders to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management and encourage the understanding of what it means to be an employee owner.

Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to multi task.
- Three years of experience in scheduling / production control.
