Pathway Caring for Children is seeking Master’s-level interns for a supervised, for-credit internship supporting children and families through community-based and mental health services. This learning-focused internship offers supervised experience in assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and other core clinical counseling functions.


Interns will work alongside experienced case managers, counselors, and supervisors in a mission-driven nonprofit environment that prioritizes learning, reflection, and ethical practice.


The Intern will have opportunities to observe, learn, and participate in appropriate

aspects of client care under supervision while developing the professional skills needed for a future career in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.


Intern will gain exposure to:

  • Observe and support therapeutic services under appropriate supervision.
  • Assist with preparation for therapy sessions and related activities.
  • Participate in supervision, training, case discussions, and team meetings as appropriate.
  • Learn proper clinical documentation and recordkeeping practices.
  • Support therapeutic activities and client engagement within the intern’s approved scope.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality.
  • Follow organizational policies, ethical standards, and applicable privacy requirements.
  • Seek feedback from supervisors and actively work toward professional development goals.
  • Assist with additional program or administrative responsibilities related to the internship experience.
Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or Master’s program related to counseling, psychology, social work, behavioral health, human services, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in therapy and behavioral health services.
  • Desire to gain practical experience working in a professional care environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to receive feedback and work collaboratively with supervisors and team members.
  • Reliable, professional, compassionate, and willing to learn.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow professional and ethical expectations.
