Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. has a Master Planner opening based in San Jose, CA; looking for a candidate with strong Aerospace & Defense supply planning experience in Semiconductor or similar high-tech industry. Work as part of the Supply Chain Planning group along with global cross-functional teams of Bus Ops, Marketing, Engineering, and Global Sales Support to support the corporate revenue goals and manage on-time delivery expectations. The Master Planner uses expertise in defining the required purchases or deliverables by planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials or services throughout the product life cycle.
Responsibilities:

Defines the required purchases or deliverables by planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials, goods, or services throughout the product life cycle.

Review all MRP system inputs with functional owner to drive accountability and ensure accuracy as necessary ensuring that all current data is being used by the MRP planning engine.

Analyze product portfolio and historical demand patterns, recommend, and maintain die bank and finished goods safety stock. Review quarterly and adjust as needed.

Provides frequent communication to internal and external customers on product deliveries and project deliverables.

Knowledge of MRB/Non-conforming/ECN practices

Works on a wide variety of complex planning activities where production techniques are new or variable.

Maintain detailed plans by understanding product transitions from Engineering to production, product revisions, product ramps and declines.

Manage disposition of aged/inactive inventory by working with the business units and factory planning support.

Responsible for achieving and improving customer shipping performance by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Knowledge of planning best practices and experience with managing tight development program deadlines in manufacturing environment

Solid experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or 8 years of related experience preferred.
- Strong reporting and analytical skills.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel); advanced Excel skills desired
- Experience with advanced planning tools preferred

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $66,560 - $146,000.*
*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
