We're hiring an Master Data Analyst to join us in Bradford.
This will be a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Master Data Management (MDM) team is responsible for several key areas, including the end-to-end management and maintenance of supplier master data. This includes supplier creation, amendments, maintenance and end-dating across relevant business entities and systems, ensuring supplier records are accurate, complete and compliant with business, governance and control requirements.
The team maintains data quality and integrity through validation, cleansing, duplicate identification and ongoing monitoring of supplier master data. It also manages and validates supplier banking, payment and remittance information, ensuring appropriate verification, approvals and controls are applied.
The role supports Purchase to Pay (PTP) and Procurement processes by ensuring accurate and timely supplier master data is available to downstream systems and processes. It also involves managing and resolving master data queries, exceptions and data quality issues, applying appropriate judgement and controls to more complex cases.
What will you be doing?
- Support the accurate and efficient delivery of end-to-end Master Data Management activities, including supplier creation, amendments, maintenance and end-dating.
- Perform complex supplier master data activities, including data validation and changes to supplier, banking, payment and remittance information, ensuring all required controls, approvals and supporting documentation are in place.
- Manage and resolve master data queries and exceptions, working with suppliers, Procurement, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Maintain high standards of supplier master data quality by identifying and resolving missing, inaccurate or duplicate information and ensuring records comply with agreed data standards.
- Ensure supplier master data changes are appropriately documented and maintain a clear audit trail of changes, approvals and supporting evidence.
- Use Microsoft Office, reporting tools and internal systems to complete master data activities accurately and efficiently and to support data quality monitoring and reporting.
- Work collaboratively within the MDM team and with wider business stakeholders to meet agreed service levels and ensure consistent application of MDM processes, standards and controls.
- Identify and escalate data quality, process and control issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Master Data Management.
- Support business projects, system changes, migrations and data cleansing activities where these impact supplier master data, ensuring MDM requirements and controls are appropriately considered.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Good understanding of Master Data Management principles, supplier master data and data quality.
- Good understanding of Purchase to Pay (PTP) and/or procurement processes.
- Experience managing and resolving queries through ticketing systems, email and other operational channels.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured, analytical and methodical approach to work.
- Ability to follow defined procedures, governance requirements and controls consistently.
- Comfortable working with business systems and processing platforms such as Oracle.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to work with data and produce reports.
- Experience identifying data quality issues, investigating discrepancies and supporting data cleansing activities.
- Ability to manage routine operational activities while prioritising more complex or urgent requests and meeting agreed deadlines and service levels.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and develop new skills, particularly in relation to systems, processes, data governance and MDM requirements.
