Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Controllership team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Marsh Singapore Controller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing financial management and control functions across 16 legal entities, including 7 regulated entities in Singapore and Labuan. You will lead a team of high-performing finance and risk management professionals to ensure excellence in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead and ensure accurate and timely completion of US GAAP and Statutory Financial Statements for multiple entities.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management and business leaders on financial matters.
  • Oversee monthly close processes, financial reporting, compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements in Singapore and Labuan.
  • Manage SOX, internal, and external audits, ensuring consistent policy application and timely resolution of queries.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee cash management, working capital optimization, foreign exchange exposure, and banking relationships.
  • Lead and coordinate mergers & acquisitions projects, systems implementation, and other assigned projects.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent; Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a must.
  • 15-20 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role within a large multinational corporation, preferably in Banking, Insurance, or Insurance broking. Audit experience with Big 4 preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, Singapore tax regulations, internal controls, and risk management frameworks relevant to insurance and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead change in a transforming, matrixed organization and improve financial processes.
