Location: University of Huddersfield
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic, and well-qualified markers to assess student work across a range of postgraduate modules delivered at the University of Huddersfield – London.
As an Affiliate for the marking period, you will work closely with academic colleagues in the programme team, using established marking criteria and rubrics to assess submissions and provide constructive, developmental feedback. You will be expected to participate in a marking briefing session and engage with the moderation process to ensure consistency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Mark student assessments in line with university criteria and standards
- Provide clear, supportive feedback to aid student development
- Attend virtual briefing and moderation meetings with the academic team
- Record marks and feedback using the university’s Virtual Learning Environment (Brightspace)
- Identify any academic misconduct cases
- Complete any mandatory training required by the university
Requirements
- PhD in a social science discipline
- Experience in postgraduate teaching and assessment
- Familiarity with online grading platforms (e.g., Brightspace)
- Willingness to collaborate with the academic team and engage in quality assurance processes (briefing and moderation processes)
- Availability to complete all marking and moderation between 15th December 2025 – 16th January 2026
