About The Role 

We’re looking for a dynamic Marketing Strategy & Growth Lead to shape Mento’s brand during a period of rapid growth. This role is perfect for a creative strategist who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to roll up their sleeves to build something from the ground up. You'll own our brand narrative, drive customer engagement, and establish market presence while working closely with cross-functional teams to fuel growth. This is a highly creative and strategic role for a leader who can turn complex ideas into compelling stories, experiment with new approaches, and strengthen Mento’s position in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Brand Strategy & Development: Define and evolve Mento’s brand identity, including visual design and narrative, across web, product, and social, building upon our differentiation in the market with an eye toward excellence, consistency, and emotional impact that resonates with our different communities (coaches, partners, and members).
  • Develop Brand Marketing Initiatives: Lead the development of campaigns and go-to-market strategy for our brand campaigns and tentpole moments that meet our short and long-term business goals. Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns from concept to completion. Coordinate product launches, manage event marketing for conferences and webinars, develop partner marketing initiatives, and execute. Track campaign performance and optimize based on data insights.
  • Content Marketing & Storytelling: Roll up your sleeves to create content yourself, from thought leadership and editorial to campaign messaging. Own the messaging on mento.co. Develop content calendars and manage editorial workflows across different formats: long-form/web, video/social, and more. Create engaging stories that drive conversions.
  • Comms & PR: Oversee the external brand communications strategy, shaping public perception with general and targeted media outlets. Write press releases, manage media relationships, and secure placements alongside external agencies.
  • Support High-Impact Events and Community Building: Partner closely with sales to build a brand that grows and expands our community of CHRO/CPOs, L&D, and talent leaders. Help shape memorable experiences that drive word-of-mouth referrals and grow customer love.
  • Insights and Data Driven: You’ll develop an in-depth understanding of our users, product, and business landscape to inform our brand strategy. 
  • Rapid Experimentation: You’ll lead a culture of experimentation to try new ideas that can help us scale further with optimal ROI.
  • Project Management & Operations: Track campaign performance to provide data-backed insights, optimize campaigns, find new opportunity areas, and report impact by establishing a clear communication structure.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Everyone at Mento is a thinker + doer, and that extends to building relationships and collaboration across teams. You’ll work closely with sales and design, and also partner and member success, coaching, product, and engineering.
What You'll Need:
  • Experience & Background: 5+ years of brand and content marketing experience, preferably in a startup or high-growth tech environment. You have a track record of building brand awareness, telling powerful stories, and driving customer acquisition. 
  • Exceptional Writer: You're a master wordsmith who can craft punchy communications for the web, product, social, and press. You’re able to adapt communication and tone to different audiences.
  • Powerful Communicator & Collaborator: You thrive equally when working heads down in solo creative work as you do collaborating with cross-functional partners across sales, coaching, product, engineering, and partner success. You understand that in remote-first environments, communication is key.
  • Innovation Mindset: You have experience running experiments, launching and iterating in ambiguous environments, balancing creative vision with measurable business outcomes, and using data to inform decision-making.
  • AI + Technical Skills: You've experimented with AI tools for marketing and have an “AI marketing stack.” Above all, you’re curious about leveraging new technologies and leading with a hands-on experimentation approach.
