How You Will Contribute:
As the Marketo Marketing Automation Specialist at Ciena, you will be a key contributor to drive forward our digital marketing strategy, with a primary focus on personalization strategy. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to implement a robust marketing automation strategy and support email personalization activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of Ciena's marketing evolution and contribute to our vision of personalization. Working alongside our digital engagement team, you will play a key role in executing Ciena's personalization strategy and roadmap.
Your primary focus will be on leveraging Marketo Engage to build and optimize automated, personalized email marketing programs at scale. You will craft engaging experiences that resonate with our audience segments by harnessing data-driven insights.
Develop and implement comprehensive data management strategies, ensuring data accuracy, compliance (GDPR, etc.), and database hygiene.
Create and manage marketing automation workflows, triggers, and email nurture programs to drive engagement and conversions.
Develop and execute highly targeted and personalized email communications based on audience segmentation and content categorization.
Conduct in-depth campaign performance analysis to refine email personalization, optimize marketing effectiveness, and provide actionable insights.
Maintain and optimize audience segmentation strategies and lead scoring models to improve targeting and qualification.
Lead the strategy and execution of Dynamic Chat tools to maximize engagement, conversion rates, and the overall customer experience.
Contribute to the redesign and ongoing optimization of the Preference Center, ensuring alignment with data privacy, subscriber preferences, and personalization goals.
Collaborate with stakeholders to support business needs, provide data-driven recommendations, and contribute to the overall success of marketing initiatives.
The Must Haves:
B2B Marketing Automation Expertise: Proven experience in developing and executing successful B2B marketing automation programs, with a strong focus on email marketing, personalization, and lead nurturing.
Marketo & Data Proficiency: Deep understanding of Marketo, including database design, data management, and processing best practices. Experience with data analysis, audience segmentation, and deriving actionable insights.
Digital Marketing & Analytics Knowledge: Strong knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, and CRM platforms. Experience with data management, including data capture, enrichment, and privacy practices.
1:1 Experience & Technology Savvy: Knowledge of dynamic chat, dynamic content, or similar tools for delivering 1:1 customer experience. Familiarity with Adobe platforms (Target, Analytics, Adobe Journey Optimizer) and Salesforce is a plus.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to "think outside the box" and translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Project Management & Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proactive & Strategic Thinking: Proactive and forward-thinking individual with the ability to anticipate needs, plan strategically, and drive results.
Pay Range:
The salary range for this role in Ottawa is $73, 200 - $116, 900
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
