The Challenge

OneTrust is building the category-defining technology software for trust, and we’re looking for a visionary VP, Corporate Communications to make our brand synonymous with the trust industry. You will craft and maintain company messaging for the fastest growing and highly innovative technology brand at the intersection of trust, privacy, ESG, and ethics.

In this key strategic role, you will report directly into the CMO and partner closely with all members of the executive team to communicate OneTrust’s purpose, values, and positioning, and influence opinions across all stakeholder groups, both internally and externally.

This role will oversee all areas of corporate communications and manage a large, seasoned team of directors, managers, and individual contributors covering public relations, launch communications, corporate brand, issues and risk management, social media, CSR, financial communications working with the investor relationships team, executive communications, and internal communications.

The right hire is an enterprise technology veteran with experience leading strategic communications and both private and public companies. You’ve lead communications for a category-defining company and know what it takes to make OneTrust a household name.

Your Mission

  • Build the overarching Corporate Communications strategy, including vision, messaging, planning, and execution across the OneTrust communications team and areas of responsibility
  • Lead OneTrust communications strategy and corporate messaging across corporate reputation, public relations, social media, executive communications, internal communications, issues and risk management, financial communications in partnership with investor relations, government relations, CSR, and corporate positioning
  • Oversee the public relations department, including corporate media relations, product communications, social media, and the OneTrust newsroom
  • Direct corporate communications efforts, including reputation management, issues and risk strategy, corporate positioning, and CSR efforts
  • Formalize internal communications strategies that build trust and transparency with the OneTrust employee base and position the company as an employer of choice
  • Define an executive communications approach that positions OneTrust executives as thought leaders in trust, privacy, security, ESG, and ethics, as well as their respective industries
  • Develop and execute on innovative communications strategies that go beyond the traditional playbook and take advantage of new, trending ways to share the OneTrust message
  • Advise to leadership key metrics and performance indicators to track and measure success
  • Be a visionary leader and provide strategic feedback to develop a team of communications directors, managers, and individual contributors

You Are

  • Highly collaborative with a deep sense of ownership and accountability to the team and company.
  • Data-driven, with a track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize, drive
  • decision-making, and lead your teams.
  • A player-coach, responsible for leading the team but willing and able to participate in all aspects of execution as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in strategy meetings, evangelizing communications strategy, and interfacing with media and community escalations
  • Passion for working in a lean, fast-paced organization, and desire to own and refine processes
  • An energetic and can-do attitude with ability to rally teams around an initiative
  • Bias to action and a passion for winning
  • Willingness to travel, up to 25%

Your Experience Includes

  • 15+ years in corporate communications/public relations agency roles for B2B/enterprise SaaS companies
  • 10+ years leadership experience, including 2nd level management experience required
  • Demonstrated track record of creating and implementing successful corporate communication strategies and programs
  • Initiative, paired with a sense of Hate to Lose mentality, with ability to stay focused on results under dynamic environments
  • Passionate team leader who enjoys developing talent and creating a high-performing team
  • Proven track record of making decisions that are focused on implementing practical, timely solutions.
  • Experience in corporate communications at both public and private companies
  • Demonstrated ability to handle many tasks at one time
