Apply your broad experience in the procurement of marketing services while interacting with Red Hat's Leadership and Executive teams. The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC or Remotely. In this role, you will work as a part of the Global Procurement team, which is organized into major spend categories including IT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), IT infrastructure (hardware, cloud, and telecom), marketing and sales, corporate services, global workplace solutions (real estate and facilities), and travel. You'll engage Red Hat's stakeholders, following procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, managing strategic supplier relationships, and leading strategic sourcing initiatives. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, your work will involve deploying category management strategies and optimizing the purchase of goods and services for Marketing across subcategories including brand, agency, events and analyst relations, and sales consulting, among others. Your success will be measured against business metrics like savings, stakeholder satisfaction, strategic contract management, and supplier management. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Partner with stakeholders and budget owners to support business requirements
  • Support stakeholders spend requirements and priorities by guiding procurement initiatives
  • Follow preferred supplier strategy and ensure proper policies are used
  • Select supplier sources by guiding competitive sourcing activities
  • Support supplier rationalization efforts in evaluation of supplier data with category goals
  • Negotiate optimal terms and conditions in contracts with selected suppliers
  • Work directly with legal team on contract negotiations and reviews
  • Establish consumption-based engagement models and operationalize negotiated contracts
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate spend and optimize key supplier partnerships by negotiating rate cards and master statements of work (SoWs) with strategic and preferred suppliers
  • Ensure that appropriate business controls are in place to reduce risk and protect Red Hat


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field; MBA degree or the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) qualification are a plus
  • 5+ years of procurement experience in various roles
  • Record of having developed and led strategic sourcing initiatives for Marketing Services purchases
  • Solid analytical skills in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair value analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Experience building and leading RFPs for Marketing or other indirect services
  • Complex problem-solving skills and record of development and implementation of creative solutions
  • Solid experience with contract negotiations at senior levels
  • Experience building relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Record of having successfully inspired or persuaded a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision
  • Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to work as part of a team and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
